A common but often overlooked, barrier to workforce inclusion is a lack of meaning. Our programme is dedicated to addressing this issue by facilitating the co-production of distributed wisdom in the workforce.

It is our mission to support our workforce to gain a sense of their own significance, purpose and wellbeing.

Alongside the delivery of a cognitively based model, we use the latest analysis of success in technology and innovative practice to ensure that human resources, occupational health and enhanced psychological support, education and training, communication and corporate governance are at the forefront of our wrap around support and workforce strategy.

Gary Green

CEO

Gary has an unwavering passion for delivering high-quality public services. With a strong focus on excellence, customer satisfaction, and system improvement, Gary strives to make a positive impact on society and enhance services for the benefit of everyone.

Throughout his career, Gary has earned respect by leading through hard work and setting an example for others with a positive and resilient mentality.

Gary graduated with a first-class degree from the University of Nottingham before enrolling on an enterprise program sponsored by Shell, where he supported the startup company Essex Medical. Gary's expertise in implementing quality systems and fostering safe and effective growth led to several accolades and recognition for his contributions to Essex Medical.

In 2008, Essex Medical was acquired by G4S, where Gary made significant contributions to organisational management of healthcare provision, ultimately becoming the MD of G4S Health Services, a business portfolio which spanned across Police, Prison, Immigrations, Secure Childrens Units and Non-Emergency Patient Transport services.

In 2013, Gary co-founded Mountain Healthcare Limited. Specialising in forensic healthcare for the Police and NHS, he oversaw its Operational growth to more than 30 sites and managing a team of 400 dedicated professionals.

Gary successfully exited Mountain Healthcare following a private equity acquisition. In 2021, together with his long-standing business partner, Professor Vanessa Webb, and two other like-minded professionals, Paul Jennings and Shaney-Ann Charlies, he co-founded Nurture Health and Care Ltd. This new enterprise is committed to revolutionising healthcare delivery models across the NHS. Guided by a strong set of values and drawing upon their collective experience, Gary and his team at Nurture Health and Care are dedicated to making a difference, helping people, and providing excellent services nationwide.

Shaney-Ann Charles

EXECUTIVE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Shaney-Ann is an accomplished and highly experienced professional in the field of workforce development. With over 20 years of experience as a Therapist and a Senior NHS leader, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role as Executive Director.

Throughout her career, Shaney-Ann has held various commissioning and assurance positions, covering a wide range of specialties.  Her diverse background includes working in Nursing, Public Health, Health and Justice, and Professional Standards. This breadth of experience has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies and challenges within these sectors.

In addition to her extensive background, Shaney-Ann is a registered Counsellor, Supervisor, Coach, Critical Incident Responder, and Organisation Development Consultant. Her qualifications and skills in these areas allow her to provide comprehensive support to individuals and organizations, ensuring their continued growth and success.

As a Counsellor, Shaney-Ann has honed her ability to connect with clients on a deep and empathetic level. She creates a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore their emotions and challenges, facilitating positive change and personal growth.    In her role as a Supervisor, Shaney-Ann offers guidance and mentorship to fellow professionals, helping them enhance their skills and navigate the complexities of their work. Her coaching expertise enables individuals to identify their strengths, overcome obstacles, and reach their full potential.

Furthermore, Shaney-Ann's experience as a Critical Incident Responder equips her to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and efficiency. She is adept at providing immediate support and resources during crises, ensuring the well-being of individuals and organisations.

As an Organisation Development Consultant, Shaney-Ann brings her comprehensive knowledge and skills to assist organizations in achieving their strategic goals. She excels in facilitating change management, fostering leadership development, and enhancing team dynamics.

Throughout her career, Shaney-Ann has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and a passion for driving positive change. Her multifaceted background, combined with her genuine care for individuals and organisations, makes her a valuable asset in the realm of workforce development.

Charlotte

Nurse Ambassador

Charlotte joined Nurture as a newly qualifies Nurse and quickly completed our unique in-house Nurture Development Programme, becoming the first Nurture Alumni. Charlotte has since gone on to work in various primary care settings with continued support, supervision and mentoring from Nurture.

Professor Vanessa Webb

MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Vanessa is enthusiastic about addressing the complex challenges faced by public services.

Vanessa obtained her MBBS degree in Medicine from the University of East Anglia, and has retained her registration as a nurse. She is a proud member of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management. Her professional journey reflects her commitment to excellence and continuous development and her learning journey includes a range of qualifications that have provided her with a solid foundation across healthcare .

Vanessa as the Co-Founder and Medical Director of Nurture Health and Care Ltd, plays a pivotal role in establishing the company and continues to lead it towards success. Additionally, she holds the position of Chair of Trustees at The Maslow Foundation, a new charity, Trustee for Survivors In Transition and is recognised by Staffordshire University, where she serves as an Honorary Professor.

Throughout her career, Vanessa has held key roles in various healthcare organisations. From 2013 to 2021, as the Co-Founder and Medical Director of Mountain Healthcare Ltd, a provider of forensic healthcare in specialised environments such as sexual offence, paediatric sexual offence, and police custody. Prior to that, she worked as a Medical Director, Clinical Director, and Forensic Medical Examiner at G4S Forensic & Medical Services, where she contributed to healthcare provision in diverse settings, including prisons, secure training centers, immigration centers, patient transport, and more successfully implemented systems and processes to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care. She played a significant role in developing the nurse practitioner role, implementing multi-agency response to care, governance processes, and skill mix review in areas including forensic medicine, primary care, occupational health, urology, and sexual health.

Vanessa is dedicated to nurturing our workforce, reducing risk and ensuring the development of evidence-based decision making and values based leadership embracing psychological safety, ambition, belonging and creativity to be the best we can be.

Marg Bannerman

EDUCATION ADVISOR

Marg has an extensive background in Nursing, Research and Education.
She contributes to the development of national standards and sits on various boards. Nurture is lucky to have her on the team to help advise and develop our educational offerings!

Paul Jennings

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

​PJ has 30 years’ experience in Policing, retiring from the role as an accredited Senior Investigating Officer.

​He led serious and major crime investigations and managed departments including vulnerable adults, children and young persons, sex and dangerous offenders and sexual assault referral centre services.

Following his Police career, he held roles including Managing Director of a national private provider for non-emergency patient transport services to the NHS, and Director of forensic healthcare services to the Police.

He worked as an advisor to the British Embassy in Bulgaria training their Police, National Prosecutors and NGO’s providing forensic support to survivors of sexual violence.

Paul has demonstrable control and command leadership of multi-disciplined agencies working together in Criminal justice investigations, multi-agency investigations in NHS settings, health and safety executive and in HM Coroner inquests.  

Dr Steve Suckling

DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH AND INNOVATION

Steve is an experienced researcher in cognition and behaviour, research director and academic who has worked across the USA, Europe and the UK. He has advised and coached at board level of blue-chip companies on high risk decision making. He is part of Nurture to help us develop methods and technologies which optimise human flourishing at organisational and community level.
